This one starts direct to the point. We were not fed the usual introduction shenanigans. If I were to write my own book this is how I'd like it to start too, to give my audience a piece of me: my impatience.

I have read about self-destructing-messy-relationships before. This is probably the first one that I liked. We went through several situationships our protagonist goes through, from ones where she gets caught entertaining others, ones where she begins to obsess over these unattainable people, even one where she kept staying despite being cheated on. And since this is not targetted as romance, there's no \"one relationship\" to save her 🦹‍♀️

My favorite part about this is how intangible her issues are. It's so weird. It's too first world. While her country is experiencing oppression, she is coming into terms with her love addiction. And I find it validating. She is existing too much. As she should.

This also takes a somewhat different approach to queerness in my opinion. The conversation always circling back to her mother and inevitably to what other people thinks, a common issue in conservative countries. And it did not take center stage in this book, and my guess is up until today, there's no solution to it despite all the 🏳️‍🌈 progress we've made today.

Initial thoughts after reading this is how this is probably my life if my mother did not get sick. I should probably start listing books under that category.
